CUSTOM WORKSHOPS
Workshops can be tailored to specific needs. Groups of four or more should contact CEPA for additional information and group rates.
Tutoring
Individual instruction is available at $35/hr with a two-hour minimum per session.
College credit

Darkroom
The darkroom is set up for black & white film developing and archival printing with tray chemistry. Enlargers, carriers, and lenses for film formats between 35mm and 4x5 are available. The darkroom has a large sink with the capacity to make prints up to 20" x 24" and an excellent ventilation system.
Digital Lab
The digital lab currently has 6 iMacs, Adobe CS3 software, internet access, two Epson 1280's and one Epson 2200.

Scanning film, slides and photos

Thursdays, June 4, 11, 18, 6-8pm
Learn how to scan negatives, slides or old photographs. Workshop will cover basic PhotoShop tools in order to size, crop, and improve photographs. Students will receive 6 free hours of lab time in addition to class time.

Intermediate Photoshop

Pre-requisite: Basic Photoshop (CEPA or equivalent) Learn industry standard digital imaging tools and cutting edge techniques for artists, designers and photographers. Material covered: image manipulation, isolation and transformations; color correcting; levels and curves; lighting techniques; custom text applications; paths and the pen tool; vector shapes; masks; channel applications; layer styles; layer management; actions; photo montage. A flash drive (1 GB minimum) is helpful for transporting your work. $150 member / $175 non-member
Advanced Digital SLR Photography

Wednesdays, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 6:00-8:30pm
This workshop presents the perfect opportunity to explore the exciting creative potential of your Digital SLR and further develop your own unique style as a photographer. During these four weeks we will cover a variety of creative and practical topics, including color, composition, thematic photography, basic digital editing and printing. Prior enrollment in CEPA’s introductory SLR Photography workshop is not required, but students should be comfortable using their camera and familiar with basic photographic terms and concepts.

Digital SLR Photography

Saturdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 11:00am-1:30pm
This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of photography and the ins and outs of your digital SLR camera, as well as train and uncover your own particular photographic eye. You will be given the tools to accurately shoot, edit and print your photographs for either creative expression or any photographic situation you may find yourself in.

Basic PhotoShop for Digital Photographers
Instructor: Alison Slein
Mondays, July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 6:00-8:30pm
Students will learn to use the ten most important tools for photographers. Tools for resizing an image, adjusting density and color, retouching imperfections, the marquee tool, crop tool, magic wand, lasso tool, healing brush, clone stamp and the dodge and burn tool. Participants should bring images to work with and a Flash drive. Students will be using Apple computers and Adobe CS3 PhotoShop software.

Intermediate Web Design/Dreamweaver

Tuesdays & Thursdays: July 14, 16, 21, 23, 6:00-8:30pm
Register through July 10
Pre-requisite: Basic Dreamweaver and Basic Photoshop (CEPA or equivalent) Programs used: Dreamweaver, Photoshop Create a website in Dreamweaver using Photoshop art and images. Technical and aesthetic considerations will be addressed. Material covered: CSS styles; templates; libraries; layers; frames; slicing graphics; working with various file format types and media integration; CMS (content management systems). A flash drive (1 GB minimum) is helpful for transporting your work. $150 member / $175 non-member

Pre-requisite: Basic Photoshop (CEPA or equivalent) Programs used: Flash, Dreamweaver & Photoshop The premier industry-standard program for creating animation and interactivity for websites. Technical and aesthetic considerations will be addressed. Participants will create a website with Flash and Dreamweaver integration. Material covered: web design for Flash; prepping files; basic animation and interactivity; behaviors and actions; basic ActionScript; importing audio and video; publishing; exporting. A flash drive (1 GB minimum) is helpful for transporting your work. $150 member / $175 non-member
